Service and Learning for Master Gardeners |

Volunteer and Continuing Education HoursMaster Gardeners are required to perform and report at least 20 hours per year of approved gardening-related community service. They are also required to attend 10 hours of approved continuing education. Provisional Master Gardeners, those who are receiving training during the current year, are required to perform and report 40 hours of approved service. Twenty of the 40 hours shall be directed toward the operation of the Gary Gerlach Plant Information Center (GPIC) at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Hours of community service are to be documented and submitted to the Extension Liaison for proper recording by December 30. Keeping RecordsMembers may now download the Volunteer Service Report forms or enter their volunteer and education hours using the Alabama Master Gardener Service Report System on the ACES web site. |
